B. Ed

Bachelors of Education, or B.Ed., is a two-year full-time degree program that is required for candidates interested in teaching or other related fields. A few colleges even offer this course as a two-year distance learning or correspondence course. Previously known as Bachelor of Training [BT] or ‘Siksha Shastri' at some universities. The B.Ed syllabus is designed to meet the psychological needs of students while also emphasizing various teaching methods.
From a teaching standpoint, students in the B.Ed. program receive professional training in both art and science subjects
All teachers in primary and secondary schools must have a bachelor's degree in education. The National Council for Teacher Education is a statutory body that oversees and regulates teacher education courses throughout the country.

Eligibility criteria

Candidates with a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in a relevant field of study are eligible to apply for the B.Ed program at a number of reputable institutions/universities. To be eligible to apply for various B.Ed entrance, graduates must have received 50 percent to 55 percent in their qualifying degree exam, while postgraduates must have received at least 55 percent in their respective qualifying degree exam.
Some universities and colleges hold entrance exams to select candidates based on their performance on the entrance exam. The majority of the exams are held in the months of May or June.

How to get admission?

Admission to the Bachelor of Education [B.Ed] curriculum in Indian colleges is mostly through entrance exams administered by states and institutions for the purpose of awarding admission to candidates. Candidates should familiarize themselves with the various admission procedures for the University of their Choice.
The focus of the admission tests is primarily on objective-type questions on topics such as:

B. Ed Job Prospects

One of the most distinguished and well approved program is B.Ed. Because India's education sector offers so many job prospects, B.Ed graduates can work in schools, coaching centres, education consultancies, home and private tuition, publishing organizations, and other places.
A teacher's pay package may differ from one school to the next, depending on whether it is a public or private school. A teacher's initial compensation ranges from Rs. 2 lakh to Rs. 3 lakh per year. A high school teacher with years of experience, on the other hand, can make up to Rs. 10 lakh per year.
Candidates interested in research can pursue M.Ed, M.Phil, and P.H.D. degrees, which would not only land them a prestigious job but also pay well.
